On April 21st, we carried a report from TRT Spor, who explained that Tottenham Hotspur are ‘particularly interested’ in Beşiktaş’ Rıdvan Yılmaz.
It was also stated the north London club will ‘closely follow’ the left-back’s performance during his side’s clash against Kasımpaşa SK, at the Vodafone Park, on Monday.
Türkiye Gazetesi have now come out with a report explaining that Tottenham Hotspur have been following the 20-year-old ‘for a while’.
Antonio Conte’s side have taken steps to sign the Turkey international as it’s claimed they have ‘knocked on Beşiktaş’ door’ with a €8m offer.
The defender has three goals and four assist to his name from 24 league matches this season. He also has just over a year left on his contract with his current employer. The Black Eagles don’t want to let the player leave for a fee less than €10m.
It’s claimed Yılmaz’s dream is to play in the Premier League and has ‘asked’ the Süper Lig side’s management to ‘make it easy for his transfer’ to Tottenham Hotspur. Whether that means Beşiktaş will accept Spurs’ €8m offer has not been made clear by Türkiye Gazetesi.
Conte has used Sergio Reguilón as the left wing-back and Ben Davies [another left-back in the squad], as one of three centre-backs since he arrived at Tottenham.
If Yılmaz were to arrive at Spurs in the summer, he would compete with the Spaniard for a place in the starting XI next season.
