Tottenham Hotspur are suddenly named in the race for Sporting fullback Pedro Porro.
That information comes from Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias, who today features a piece claiming ‘half of Europe’ are now attentive to the player’s potential.
The outlet starts by claiming that La Liga sides Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid all want the player. Then they suddenly point out Tottenham are also one of the clubs who are following him, later taking reports from Italy saying Juventus want him as well.
These recent reports about the Old Lady said the Serie A side were informed that it would take at least €25m to sign Porro, but Jornal de Notícias disagrees with that.
They claim that Sporting actually did not receive any approach for the player, and the Lisbon side actually don’t want to lose him in the middle of the season.
So if Tottenham or any other try to sign him in January, only something close to his €45m release clause could convince the Lions of letting him go.
Since it was recently reported that Antonio Conte is unhappy with his right-back options, this is a rumour which makes sense after all.
