On March 7th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Napoli have been observing Sassuolo’s Jeremie Boga.
It was also explained that it won’t be easy for Napoli to sign the forward because of Chelsea. The Blues sold the 23-year-old to Sassuolo in 2018 and have an option to re-sign him for €15m.
Calciomercato have an update on the Ivory Coast international and they state Tottenham have joined Chelsea in chasing Boga.
It’s claimed that Frank Lampard’s side and Spurs, along with Borussia Dortmund and Valencia, ‘like’ the player. The attacker’s contract with the Italian side runs down in 2022 and the report adds there will be ‘an auction’ for Boga in the summer.
Although Calciomercato talks about an auction, they have failed to take into account that Chelsea don’t have to get into a battle with Tottenham, Dortmund and Valencia to sign the Sassuolo star.
For now, the website only mentions the four clubs ‘like’ Boga and there’s no indication whether or not Chelsea will exercise the buyback option after this season.
Boga has eight goals and two assists in 24 league matches for Sassuolo this season.
