Tottenham ‘very interested’ in signing player Conte ‘really likes’ – ‘Serious’ possibility Spurs get deal done

Tottenham Hotspur’s need to sign a new midfielder has increased after Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a serious injury last month.

The Uruguayan isn’t expected to return until the start of next season and his absence has now shown Spurs lack depth in the middle of the pitch.

Tottenham have identified Barcelona’s Franck Kessié as one of the targets. Three days ago, Fichajes.net reported the north London club could soon start talks to sign the 26-year-old.

The Ivory Coast international left AC Milan as a free agent and sealed a move to the Camp Nou last summer. He’s been largely reduced to a substitute’s role, making four league starts this season.

Sport explain Kessié is transferable for the La Liga side and his sale would be a good deal for the Catalan club since he was signed for free. Xavi Hernández will have the last word on the midfielder’s future as the manager will decide whether or not to retain him.

When discussing the player’s suitors, it’s said Tottenham are ‘very interested’ in signing him. Antonio Conte ‘really likes’ Kessié as he knows the midfielder very well from his time in Italy.
