Tottenham Hotspur are in the picture to sign VfB Stuttgart’s Saša Kalajdžić, according to multiple claims coming out of Germany.
The forward has a year left on his deal and was wanted by Borussia Dortmund. The chance to join BVB has been ruled out as they are close to sealing a deal for Ajax’s Sebastien Haller.
Despite this, the 24-year-old’s stay at the Bundesliga side is ‘still considered unlikely’, according to Bild.
It’s said several clubs in the Premier League have included the Austria international in their target list, and that’s when Tottenham are tagged. A move to England would ‘please’ him.
Stuttgart are ready to part ways with the player for €25m as this figure could give them a lot of breathing space financially. This is an advantage for clubs in England like Spurs, as they will not have an issue meeting this price and offering him an improved salary.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are looking at Kalajdžić as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski. There’s been no progress made on this front, but Bild state that could change if the Pole were to leave for Barcelona.
Another German outlet, TZ, explains the player’s negotiations with the Bavarian club are stalling. Meanwhile, the Premier League is ‘tempting’ for Kalajdžić, where Tottenham are ‘interested’ in him.
Although the Premier League is ‘tempting’, the Austrian also prefers a move to a top club like Bayern and would not fear competing with Lewandowski, if the latter were to stay at the Allianz Arena.
