Tottenham are ‘interested’ in Villarreal defender Pervis Estupiñán, with the Spanish side open to a sale this summer.
That’s according to El Periodico Mediterraneo, who explain how the Champions League semi-finalists need to sell before they can buy.
The newspaper explains that Unai Emery’s squad is currently made up of 30 players, a figure they want to bring down, with sales set to start something of a domino effect of departures and then arrivals.
Estupiñán is one of the several stars in the squad who can be sold and also help to reduce the wage bill, and he has interest from Tottenham.
The Submarine have put the defender ‘in the shop window’ alongside the likes of Arnaut Danjuma, Francis Coquelin, Aissa Mandi and even Pau Torres.
They are ‘willing to sell’, and if offers arrive that ‘satisfy’ the financial interests of the club, then these players will be moved on and replacements signed.
There is no mention of a bid from Tottenham at this point or how much they would have to pay, just that they are ‘interested’ in the full-back this summer.
With Villarreal open to a sale, though, there is a deal to be done as Antonio Conte continues to reshape the squad at his disposal.
