Tottenham are ‘interested’ in Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, who will be available on a free transfer come the summer.
That’s according to Sky Sports Austria, who carry quotes from journalist Marc Behrenbeck on how a deal is “very, very likely.”
Sky explain that Grillitsch was already on the verge of leaving Hoffenheim last summer when AC Milan were keen, but the German side’s demands of €15m were too high.
Now there is a new interested party in Roma and Jose Mourinho, who ‘have an eye’ on the player, but they are not alone in their desire.
According to Sky’s latest information, Tottenham are also ‘interested’ in the midfielder as they look to give Antonio Conte the reinforcements he was promised.
The Austrian midfielder is available on a free transfer in the summer and there, according to Behrenbeck, is an “absolute bargain” for any interested parties. He also assumes that Grillitsch will join a “top team”.
Whether that will be Tottenham isn’t stated, but it is made clear that they are interested in him nonetheless.
Like the other interested parties, they are presumably ready to wait until the summer, and his expiring contract means they can open negotiations in January anyway.
There is also the possibility of them negotiating a cheap deal in the winter window, though, so this could be one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
