The race for Benfica striker Carlos Vinícius is highlighted by TVI24 show Mais Transferências today.

Even though it seemed like a Tottenham Hotspur story, since José Mourinho’s side are said to be ‘insisting’ on the signing, and that’s in their headline, there are reportedly two other Premier League sides also chasing the player.

Journalist Rui Pedro Braz claims that Crystal Palace and Leicester City are both keen on the 25-year-old as well. And all these cubs are struggling to afford the price demanded by Benfica, which is €50m.

Tottenham are the club with the oldest interest, as they’ve previously made an offer of €30m, and that was turned down by the Eagles.

Regarding Leicester City, Rui Pedro Braz points out that some social media comments had suggested the Foxes could add the likes of Adrien Silva or Islam Slimani to the deal. He rules that out, saying the possibility doesn’t exist.

Crystal Palace’s interest is due to the possible departure of Christian Benteke, who, always, is linked to other Premier League clubs.

As no one seems to be paying the €50m for Carlos Vinícius, there’s another alternative for Tottenham in Benfica’s squad: Haris Seferovic.

It’s claimed Spurs offered €15m for the player in January, and had their bid rejected. Now Daniel Levy knows Benfica are in a more fragile position as they’re missing out on the Champions League this season, and is trying to get the player on loan.

The Eagles aren’t accepting the bid for now, but if the €15m is repeated, there’s a good chance it will be accepted.
