Kosovo Football Federation president Agim Ademi has spoken to Syri TV and claimed Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi.
The Kosovo international has been in excellent form for Fenerbahce after his move from Caykur Rizespor last summer, and has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club.
Last week there were reports he wants to play in England and again Tottenham were linked with the player.
Speaking about Muriqi, Ademi said Tottenham are keen on signing the player, as covered by GazetaOlle: “Tottenham are insisting on signing Muriqi but there are also other teams in Italy who are interested in him. Tottenham were ready to pay whatever Fenerbahce wants, but since then, other Serie A clubs have entered the race, such as Napoli.”
The 26 year old has scored 15 goals in all competitions for Fenerbahce this season, and the Turkish club could be forced to sell him because of their poor financial situation.
Along with Tottenham, it was reported in both the Turkish and Italian media that Serie A clubs such as Napoli and Lazio are also looking to strengthen their squad by signing him.
Muriqi’s contract with Fenerbahce will expire at the end of June 2023.
