Tottenham are one of a number of Premier League clubs who have been linked with Franck Kessie at several points throughout the midfielder’s career.
There hasn’t been anything especially strong in recent months and Chelsea have been the side most linked since the summer. The Italian media have been floating the idea of Kessie being used next summer in a deal which would see Tiémoué Bakayoko make his loan move to Milan permanent.
Indeed, Kessie himself is technically on loan. Signed from Atalanta on a two year loan deal in June 2017, there’s an obligation for Milan to complete the full signing for €20m in the next window.
Tuttomercatoweb have brought Spurs interest back up to date.
They report Tottenham have initiated contact to ‘understand the feasibility’ of signing the midfielder. An estimated transfer fee is put at €40m, which would see Milan double their money on the 22 year old.
The contact from Tottenham has been with the player’s entourage, and Milan themselves would be open to a sale if it presented a good capital gain.
PSG have been interested, but TMW explain the French interest has declined recently.
Kessie has started 21 Serie A matches so far this season. He’s a central midfielder, with a defensive slant, and tends to drift slightly to the right.
