German newspaper Bild have had a look at English claims of Borussia Monchengladbach interest in Vincent Janssen.

The Tottenham striker has had a difficult start since his arrival in the Premier League, and there’s a possibility either he or Spurs could decide a parting of the ways is best for both sides this summer, but there’s nothing concrete yet which suggests that.

Bild say Tottenham’s asking price of €14m is ‘absolutely realistic’ for Gladbach’s budget, after sporting director Max Eberl made it clear there’d be no huge incoming business this summer without matching big sales.

Bild say the €14m figure came from The Daily Mirror, but the English newspaper don’t seem to use that amount. More widely in Germany there’s no real suggestion Gladbach are on the verge of a move for Janssen, and with Eberl often happy to push stories to the press it’s likely there would be if an attempt was imminent.

So whilst it’s all possible, and Janssen to Gladbach makes some sense, there doesn’t seem to be a great deal genuine in this yet. However, there’s every chance the suggestion could catch Eberl’s attention, but Tottenham would likely want more than €14m.
