According to claim in the Italian media, Tottenham Hotspur have tabled an offer for Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, which could mean Juventus drop out of the race for the youngster.
TMW have reported on the latest developments over De Ligt’s future and it’s claimed Tottenham have offered Ajax €55m to sign central defender.
The 18 year old has become one of the most sought after youngsters in Europe and has been linked with a string of clubs including Barcelona.
However, it’s reported Juventus wil be priced out of a move for the Netherlands international following Tottenham’s reported bid.
With Tottenham’s past dealings with Ajax they’ll be hoping to get a deal done for De Ligt. The Premier League side in recent seasons have brought in Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sánchez form the Dutch giants, and De Ligt could be the next to arrive at the London club.
De Ligt made his debut for Ajax in 2016 and this season he’s become a regular in the team. The young defender has seven Netherlands caps after making his debut last year.
This claim of a Tottenham offer isn’t being mirrored in the Dutch media, which would be a point of doubt.
