According to a claim in the Greek media, Tottenham Hotspur last night sent a scout to the game between AEK Athens and Benfica.
Sportime.gr report Tottenham were sending an official to last night’s Champions League clash, which Benfica won 3-2. It’s claimed the Premier League side were getting a lowdown on AEK Athens No.1 Vasilios Barkas and also Konstantinos Galanopoulos.
It’s reported Tottenham have already watched Barkas on a few occasions and it’s suggested the London club could bring in the player as cover for Hugo Lloris. The French international is currently sidelined due to injury.
However, it’s also claimed Tottenham were getting a lowdown on defensive midfielder Galanopoulos, who played the full ninety minutes in his side’s defeat to the Portuguese giants.
Born in the Netherlands, Barkas has played for Greece on four occasions since making his debut in 2016, whilst Galanopoulos made his first appearance for his country in May.
