Tottenham Hotspur Vincent Jannsen believes he has developed as a player since joining the Premier League side. The Netherlands international signed for Tottenham in the summer from Dutch side AZ for £17m.
In an interview with De Telegraaf, Janssen was asked how he thought his time in England has gone so far.
The striker revealed because he’s playing against better players and training harder at Tottenham, he has benefited from this. The 22-year-old went on to say the training at his new club is similar to that of the Netherlands national team in terms of the level.
“I feel I am a better footballer. At Spurs we train harder, I stand in front of very good defenders and I play great matches, including the Champions League.
“In London, I’ve became accustomed to a higher level, which is comparable to the training of Oranje,” said the Tottenham star.
Janssen is currently away with his country as they prepare for their two upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Danny Blind’s side face Belarus on Friday night followed by a tricky home clash with Euro 2016 finalists France next week.
Having failed to qualify for Euro 2016 there’s a cloud hanging over the national team, and a couple of good results would go a long way to lifting that.
