Tottenham Hotspur star Vincent Janssen has told the Dutch media he’s not concerned Harry Kane is ahead of him in the pecking order. The 22-year-old was a substitute in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Sunday after Kane’s return from injury.
Speaking to Voetbal International when joining up with the Netherlands squad Janssen was asked about Kane’s return to the Tottenham team. Janssen said when he joined the Premier League side in the summer, he was aware that he would be in competition with the England international to get the nod for the no.9 spot.
The forward went on to say that despite the perception he’s hardly been involved since arriving in England, he’s played more than sitting on the bench.
“When I signed for this club, I already knew that Harry Kane was there. I have played more than sitting on the bench,” said Janssen
Janssen joined Tottenham in the last transfer window, and despite being the top scorer in the Dutch league last season he’s found goals hard to come by in the Premier League. The Dutchman has just one league goal to his name in this campaign, which came via a penalty in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City.
