Earlier on Monday we covered comments from former Dutch footballer and manager Willem van Hanegem to AD newspaper.

Van Hanegem played for Feyenoord over 250 times, and managed the club, as well as taking charge of others including AZ, Sparta Rotterdam and FC Utrecht. As a player he was a goalscoring midfielder, and explained he felt Janssen was a little selfish against Belarus.

The Tottenham player has been under pressure recently, and Van Hanegem believes that harmed his game, thinking he should revert back to being more of a team player.

However, over at De Telegraaf they certainly don’t agree. The other Dutch newspaper say Janssen was a standout player for the Netherlands and rated him as 8 out of 10.

Reporter John Rep (we’d assume that’s the Johnny Rep) is quoted as saying: “Janssen has become even stronger in England. He plays smart, as he provokes fouls against him. In the box, he takes a very short time and then pops on goal. And then the great goal with that left leg of his.”

You can’t please everyone all of the time.
