Barcelona continue their efforts to get rid of Clement Lenglet, and Tottenham Hotspur continue to be in the picture to sign him, that’s according to the Monday editions of both Sport and Mundo Deportivo.
Sport say the defender is on the ‘exit ramp’ at the Camp Nou and he’s become a ‘problem’ for the club. Tottenham and AS Roma have both made offers, with Antonio Conte’s side wanting a loan with a purchase option, and Jose Mourinho’s club being prepared to conduct a full transfer.
Over at Mundo Deportivo it’s again reported Tottenham want a loan with an option, whilst Roma are ‘willing to negotiate’ a transfer fee with Barcelona.
Whilst the Italian option looks better for the Blaugrana it would depend on exactly the level of offer, given Serie A sides aren’t especially known for throwing money around.
Barcelona want the player’s exit completed by the end of June, which gives just three days for everything to be finalised.
That’s a very tough deadline, and if Barca genuinely want a quick deal then it may favour Tottenham and a loan.
