AS Pau Lopez August 16thThere’s disagreement in Spain over just what Espanyol want for their young goalkeeper Pau Lopez.

Earlier reports had claimed Espanyol wanted €5m from Tottenham to complete a deal for the 21 year old, and that was generally agreed across the Spanish media, the same going for Spurs having offered just €2m.

Spanish newspaper AS have a different slant on Tuesday. They explain that with it getting close to the end of the transfer window, Espanyol have a new idea.

Just like Marca said this morning, AS repeat that Espanyol are expecting a new offer from Tottenham, obviously higher than the original €2m.

But now the response will be different, AS reckon the Spanish club would demand Spurs pay Pau’s buyout clause, which currently stands at €15m.

That’s an increase of €13m on the club’s original offer. Maybe Tottenham should just throw in the €5m offer quickly and see what happens.
