Tottenham are keen on Stade Reims striker Huge Ekitike, with the 19-year-old’s list of suitors growing by the day.
Ekitike moved up to Reims first-team set up in July last year and had enjoyed a superb first season in Ligue 1, with nine goals and three assists in 21 games in the league.
His tally in 10 goals and four assists in 24 games in all competitions, and those are numbers that have half of Europe lining up for a player who is only 19-years-old.
Roma are one of those who are keen, and Gazzetta Dello Sport explain today that Tiago Pinto recently made a trip to France to plan ahead of next season.
This also saw him make a ‘survey’ of Ekitike, whose performances have ‘attracted the interest’ of several Premier League clubs.
Reims have already ‘fended off assaults’ from Newcastle, and West Ham Arsenal and Tottenham are ‘also interested’ in the youngster.
They’ve set a price of €20m for him, but that figure is likely to keep rising if he continues to score goals between now and the end of the season.
Tottenham, then, will have to pay at least that amount for his signature if they want to turn their interest into something firmer moving forwards.
They’re certainly keen but, unlike their Premier League counterparts, are yet to make an effort to get him.
That could change should Harry Kane depart, with any interest in Ekitike or other strikers likely to depend on whether he stays at the club or departs this year.
