Even though Tottenham Hotspur fans may be waiting for big signings to fight for the league title last season, the club seem to also be keeping an eye on another type of target.
As reported by Marca today, Tottenham are following a youngster from Spanish third-division side RCD Mallorca, which could come as a quite cheap signing for the summer window.
The player is Joan Sastre, a 20-year-old right-back who has been excelling for the club this season. His performances have been attracting interest from several big sides, including the likes of Atletico Madrid.
According to Marca, Tottenham Hotspur are following the player’s development closely, sending scouts to watch him regularly.
The outlet reports that Sastre has a release clause which can go from €3m to €5m, depending on Mallorca’s final league position.
Even though the figures seem quite low, the club could still negotiate the price down for a sale, and Tottenham would obviously try that.
