Earlier this week French newspaper L’Equipe reported that Moussa Sissoko is edging towards the Tottenham Hotspur exit. The midfielder’s poor relationship with manager Mauricio Pochettino is the major reason for a possible change, with the two not seeing eye to eye.
L’Equipe explained that Sissoko had expected a ‘certain status’ at Tottenham because of his high transfer fee, and was taken aback when then wasn’t the case. Likewise, Pochettino was taken aback that a player could have such an attitude and expected more in training.
The claims were quickly recycled into an English take on things, and now it’s back in France again, with L’Equipe saying Tottenham are ‘determined’ to get a transfer through and have already communicated such to the player’s environment.
This story seems to be getting carried away with itself and the claimed advances since L’Equipe’s first report this week seem to be artificial.
The situation remains that Sissoko and Pochettino don’t work well together and a solution needs to be found, the rest is likely window dressing.
