Over the past few days, there have been a few rumours circulating about Tottenham’s alleged interest in Joaquín Correa.
The forward appears to be on his way out from Lazio now that Maurizio Sarri is in charge, and in order to make some cash for the new manager’s targets, the Argentine could be sacrificed.
Arsenal and Everton have been linked a handful of times in the past, but the arrival of Fabio Paratici at Spurs could change everything.
Il Tempo look at the situation on Friday, claiming Tottenham ‘could be a hot track’ for the versatile forward thanks to their new director of football.
Paratici is said to like Correa ‘a lot’, and they recall that, 12 months ago, before he struck an agreement with Fiorentina for Federico Chiesa, he had offered a similar deal to Lazio, meaning a two-year loan with a fixed compulsory purchase clause of €40m.
The Rome team didn’t accept it, keeping him around last season, during which he scored eight goals and assisted another four in 28 league appearances.
This summer appears to be different, however, and it seems an offer of a similar value would certainly be accepted these days.
