Unfortunately not given a chance against Italy on Monday night, Michy Batshuayi had to watch his side lose 2-0 to Italy from the bench.
The Marseille striker, who is expected to be sold by the Ligue 1 club this summer, looked on helplessly as his country were tactically outclassed by Antonio Conte and his brave Italians.
This time doing very little, however, could be helping him make a decision about his future, and Le10 Sport seem to think one of the potential suitors after him will soon be discarded by the player.
That suitor appears to be West Ham, who are looking for a star striker to lead their frontline next season at the Olympic Stadium.
The reason? A lack of Champions League football.
Marseille’s star striker is said to be wanting to move to a club who competes in the elite European club competition, and West Ham, who finished 7th in the Premier League last season, will only be playing the Europa League.
By doing this, the striker could be sending a clear signal to Tottenham, who will be playing in the Champions League, but Daniel Levy will still need to cough up €40m (£31.8m) if they are to convince Marseille to let him go.
We’re not sure where Le10 Sport are getting this information from as there is no source, but it isn’t an exclusive either, so we’d be inclined to take it with a pinch of salt.
