You thought Clino N’Jie and Georges-Kévin N’Koudou was a saga which had ended on Friday, right? Yeah, so did we, after reports from both French newspaper L’Equipe and Sky Sports (who may well have been following from L’Equipe) that a deal was now all set, it all looked to be coming to an end.
However, an expected completion over the weekend didn’t happened and Monday’s edition of L’Equipe hints at things taking a step backward rather than hurtling towards an announcement.
L’Equipe say the whole delay, going back around a month, is due to ‘fussy’ Daniel Levy and instability at Marseille. Fresh agreement was found on Friday, but since then there’s been ‘total radio silence’ coming from Tottenham on the N’Jie side.
The Cameroon international is said to have considered staying at the club, given the mess of the saga, and now isn’t entirely sure what’s happening.
L’Equipe explain that, as things stood on Sunday night, the paperwork on both deals was still to be signed by Tottenham. Lyon are brought back into the situation for N’Jie, which would suggest there may well be another twist.
