Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Sporting fullback Pedro Porro continues gaining strength in the Portuguese media.
This time, it’s newspaper O Jogo who features a story claiming Spurs have been ‘gathering data’ about the 23-year-old.
It had previously been claimed that Tottenham watched Porro in Champions League games this season, and it’s now said that the same scout went after more information on him.
That contact was made to a Manchester City employee, who knew the player from before Pep Guardiola’s side sold him to Sporting.
It’s said Tottenham’s ‘biggest doubt’ about Porto is regarding Porro’s physical condition, since he missed 20 matches since joining the Lions in 2020.
O Jogo writes that Spurs have the Spaniard in a ‘reduced list of right-backs’, since he has two qualities which attracts their interest: his strength in one-on-one situations and his crosses.
Since Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona already got in touch to know his price, it’s claimed that’s a factor which could ‘accelerate the negotiation process’ from Tottenham, who are looking to sign a right-back soon, even though a transfer is only expected to happen in the next summer.
