Unable to ever make an impact at Tottenham, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has either sat on the bench at Wembley or struggled at Burnley on loan.
However, the French winger, who broke onto the scene with consecutive good seasons with Nantes and Marseille, is now expected to return to his home country where he will get another chance to rekindle his career.
According to L’Equipe, Nkoudou is on the verge of moving on loan to AS Monaco, who recently reappointed Leonardo Jardim after initially sacking him three months ago.
The newspaper explain the two sides were ‘very close’ to an agreement on Wednesday afternoon, and the move is expected to take place in ‘the coming hours’.
Since Mauricio Pochettino isn’t that keen on having him around, this appears to be a great deal for all involved, especially if Monaco can get the 23-year-old firing again.
Arriving in August 2016, the forward has only made 26 appearances in all competitions for Spurs, scoring one goal and picking up two assists, one of which came this season in a four minute cameo against Fulham.
