On Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport stated that Manchester United’s interest Milan Škriniar has left Inter Milan worried.

The Red Devils are not the only English club keen, as Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the defender.

That’s according to Quotidiano Nazionale, who mention the north London club in their report that focuses on contract situation of some Nerazzurri players.

Škriniar has just over a year left on his contract at the San Siro and ‘Tottenham follow him’. The Premier League side’s manager, Antonio Conte, knows the centre-back well, having managed him for two seasons at Inter.

With Spurs and also United in picture for the Slovakia international, the Serie A side’s management ‘want to avoid nasty surprises’ from the market in the summer. Therefore, the Italian club are looking to tie down the defender to a new deal until 2026.

The 27-year-old currently earns €3.5m per year. Simone Inzaghi’s side plan to secure his long-term future by offering Škriniar a rise as his salary will be improved to around €5m per season, after tax, with the new contract.

For now, Tottenham are in the picture. Whether or not they can convince the player to reunite with Conte in London remains to be seen.
