Any article that suggests Harry Kane could be sold by Tottenham probably isn’t worth the light of day, as the chances of Spurs letting their star go anytime soon remain slim to none.

However, let’s entertain the idea for a bit, as Calciomercato.it in Italy have done, and go along with the suggestion that the Wembley residents are keeping an eye on potential targets just in case the striker decides to look elsewhere.

According to the Italian website, one man who appears on this alleged shortlist is Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik, who, after having a great start with the Italian side following his move from Ajax, is struggling to return to the first-team regularly.

After all, this has very little to do with him and more to do with how well Dries Mertens slotted into the role during his absence, becoming one of the most feared forwards in Serie A.

Only playing 175 minutes of football so far this season, the Poland international is on the bench more often than not, and that could force him to reconsider his options down the line.

The Italian website also mention Arsenal as an option for the 23-year-old, probably due to the fact he presents a similar profile to Olivier Giroud, just a good seven years younger.

While the France international is keen to remain at the Emirates until the end of his contract, we’ll have to see if that actually happens, as, once again, the 30-year-old seems to be spending the vast majority of his time on the bench.

A great plan B for Arsène Wenger, Giroud might eventually get sick of not starting, even with a long season ahead of the Gunners.

As well as Arsenal and Tottenham, both Schalke and Borussia Dortmund are keeping an eye on the Polish forward in case he decides to call a day on his time in Italy.

These appear to be all pure hypotheticals right now, however, as there’s plenty of football left for Milik to try and regain his spot in the starting line up.
