There have been numerous, and we mean numerous, articles written over the past month or so regarding the future of Japhet Tanganga at Tottenham.
The 23-year-old has yet to feature under Antonio Conte this season, making the bench in the last two games, and it has been made clear through reports that Spurs wouldn’t be against seeing him leave.
However, their main demand in any negotiation has been to make sure they get some money either now or down the line, meaning a permanent transfer this summer or a loan with an obligation to buy at the very least.
That’s something interested clubs have been reluctant to agree to so far, including Milan, who have long targeted the Tottenham defender.
They continue to do so, as explained by Gazzetta dello Sport, who state the Spurs defender ‘is requested from Milan on a loan with an option to buy’.
As explained above, though, the issue is that Tottenham ‘do not concede’ to a loan, especially not one with a mere option to buy.
That’s why talks are ‘stalled’ for the time being, with around nine days left to try and get it unstuck.
For now, however, Milan are focusing on bolstering their midfield, and will likely turn to their defence once again after their new priority is sorted.
