Tottenham have Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada ‘on their list’ but are unlikely to be able to get their man.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say the midfielder is more likely to extend his contract with the Bundesliga side than move away this summer.
The magazine explains that several of Frankfurt’s stars have interest ahead of the summer transfer window after a season that has seen them reach the Europa League final.
Performances in Europe have earned attention, and Kamada, who has five goals and one assist in 12 games in Europe this season, is one of those in the picture.
However, they face a battle to convince the player and his club into a move, with it explained it is ‘no longer out of the question’ that the Japanese star will extend his contract.
That was due to expire in 2023, hence the possibility of a move, but there have been talks about an extension for weeks and that now appears to be on the cards.
Of course, things can always change and perhaps if Frankfurt don’t win the Europa League and thus fail to qualify for the Champions League, Kamada will change his mind, particularly if Tottenham finish fourth and can offer European football.
That’s a big if, of course, but either way, Tottenham have put the player on their list of potential targets for the summer.
