Tottenham have ‘entered the negotiations’ for Stuttgart forward Nico Gonzalez and are ‘thinking’ of making an offer for him.
That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says that Spurs are ready to rival Fiorentina for the Argentine’s signature.
According to his information, Gonzalez was a target for Jose Mourinho during his time in charge at Tottenham, and despite his departure, the idea has not gone away.
Indeed the impending arrival of Fabio Paratici has only seemingly strengthened their interest, and they are ‘thinking’ of making an offer for him.
Tottenham are aware that Stuttgart would accept an offer of €25m plus bonuses for the winger, who managed six goals and two assists in 15 league games last season.
Fiorentina have already proposed a deal worth €22m plus €3m in bonuses, but that has not been accepted as yet.
Spurs are yet to make a formal bid, but there is a feeling that they will, and the beginning of next week will be ‘decisive’ for knowing where his future lies.
That’s because, by that point, Fiorentina may have upped their bid to try and finalise a deal, but an offer higher than one from La Viola could arrive from Tottenham.
One to keep a close eye on for sure.
