The Portuguese press swing between claiming Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer for Adrien Silva and claiming no offers have arrived at all.

On Sunday, Record are having a Tottenham ‘on’ day and explain a €20m bid from Spurs is the only offer to arrive at Sporting for their midfielder, and therefore the best option in town.

That’s unfortunate for Sporting and Adrian, because the Portuguese club’s president Bruno de Carvalho has set a €30m price tag for the player.

With no clubs going near there, and there not exactly being a queue of clubs threatening to, things may have to change. Adrien has long wanted a move to the Premier League and was denied a switch to Leicester City last summer.

Turning 29 years of age this season, and having been involved with Sporting since 2002, it would appear somewhat cruel to deny the player his England dream again.

Spurs’ €20m, should it exist, is becoming more attractive by the day, which is oh-so-Tottenham.

Record believe this will be a ‘decisive’ week coming for Tottenham and other, unnamed, interested parties.
