French newspaper L’Equipe report that Sofiane Boufal would probably have been left Lille several weeks ago, if it wasn’t for an unfortunate knee problem he suffered at the end of last season.

Boufal underwent a meniscus operation in May, and whilst this means that a relatively small issue has been solved, it’s not attracted clubs who would like someone fighting fit right now.

Therefore, L’Equipe believe Boufal could stay at Lille until the January transfer window, which would give him time to recover and attract the level of club some of his performances last season deserved.

As it stands, the French newspaper say Soouthampton and Schalke are interested, which shows Boufal hasn’t been completely forgotten.

Le10 Sport take that as meaning that Tottenham Hotspur have now moved on with their interest, maybe not wanting to bet on a player who has just had an operation, however minor that operation was.

Arsenal are thrown into the list by Le10, along with PSG, but it’s their north London rivals who have been linked much more heavily over the past 6 months or so.
