A big success for Juventus following his £36.3m transfer from Valencia in the summer, Joao Cancelo could end up playing as a midfielder going forward for the Serie A champions.

Reports in Italy have alluded to Max Allegri thinking about testing out the Portugal international as a ‘mezzala’ in the last few games of the season, meaning that, if it works, they will need some backup in the role next season.

Gazzetta dello Sport name two players on Friday, the first of which is Monaco’s Djibril Sidibé, and the other being Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier.

Following a successful World Cup with England, the right-back’s stock at Spurs has decreased considerably over the course of the season, to the point where some believe he could be free to go come the end of the campaign.

Gazzetta believe the Tottenham defender ‘cannot be overlooked’, as he would bring a bit more defensive stability than what Joao Cancelo has been able to provide this year.

There’s no mention of fee or moves being made, but it appears the 28-year-old could end up being an option for the Serie A champions, and if he isn’t wanted in London, he might as well give Turin a go.
