Denis Suarez to Arsenal… on the verge of happening, right?
Well, maybe not, at least as far as Mundo Deportivo are concerned.
It’s explained on Saturday that the Catalan club had seen Suarez as an obvious exit during the January transfer window, especially considering the player’s desire to leave.
Ernesto Valverde hasn’t been especially backing of the idea, preferring to pack his squad for the second half of Barca’s season, but an exit has very much seemed on the cards.
And that exit is to Arsenal. Over and over and over again, the Catalan media have reported Suarez’s desire to team up with Unai Emery and try his luck in thePpremier League.
The end of the week even saw claims the Gunners had managed to convince Barca that a loan with an option to buy, rather than obligation, wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
Saturday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo presents a problem, and it’s one Tottenham could play a big part in. On the back page of the same newspaper, Spurs interest in Malcom is covered, and it’s been similar for a few days.
Mauricio Pochettino’s club have been reportedly keen on the Brazilian for the past two transfer windows, and there’s a suggestion a loan may be available.
Should that loan happen, then Mundo Deportivo explain it puts Suarez’s exit in real danger. Valverde may accept losing a player or two, but he doesn’t want to see Munir, Suarez and Malcom all go in the same window.
Should Tottenham be able to use their connections to sign Malcom, as was suggested on Friday, then it could ruin Arsenal’s January window.
