Tottenham Hotspur have again been linked with SC Freiburg attacking midfielder Maximilian Philipp in the German press. There have been recent reports the 23-year-old has played his last game for the Bundesliga side, but his agent denied this.

Tottenham in recent months have been closely watching Philipp, with the player impressing for Freiburg this season. The German side are a respectable 6th in the table with one game remaining, and Philipp has been instrumental in this. This has led to interest from other clubs, and along with Tottenham, Leipzig have been showing an interest.

There were claims in the British media Philipp has played his last home game with Freiburg ahead of his move to Leipzig, but his agent Dirk Pietroschinsky has confirmed to Kicker there is no agreement with the German side: “It is not the case, there is no change with Maximilian.”

Pietroschinsky also revealed there are clubs from outside Germany who are watching his client, and in particular from the Premier League. Philipp’s agent wouldn’t say which English clubs want to sign the forward, but Kicker made a point of naming Tottenham, which backs up previous claims of Mauricio Pochettino interest.
