As Weston McKennie fights hard in Qatar to get the United States qualified for the World Cup’s knock-out stages, Tottenham Hotspur continue to work on his signing from Juventus.
The latest news on this purchase comes from Tuttosport, who today feature a piece on the Old Lady’s potential departures.
It’s claimed that before buying, the Serie A giants know they’ll have to sell some players, and McKennie is one of those who could leave soon.
According to Tuttosport, the contacts between Tottenham and the midfielder’s entourage ‘are increasing through intermediaries’.
The outlet says that’s ‘not surprising’, since it’s well known that Spurs manager Antonio Conte and director Fabio Paratici are big admirers of the player.
Still, it isn’t said how much the London side would spend on the 24-year-old, as despite Transfermarkt’s €21m valuation, he’s likely to move for more.
Besides McKennie, Tottenham are said to be also interested in Adrien Rabiot. The Frenchman, however, could end up being signed for free at the end of the season, unless his agent finds an agreement for a contract extension at Juventus.
