While many other clubs have been said to be interested in Azzedine Ounahi following his performances at the World Cup, Tottenham have not been one of them until now.
The news that Spurs are looking at the Morocco international comes amid heavy interest from Napoli, and is being reported by La Repubblica.
The Italian outlet, naturally covering the situation from the Serie A side’s perspective, state that while Luciano Spalletti and co. have ‘the yes of the player’, Premier League sides, such as Tottenham, are meddling.
They state that Leicester, ‘but for a few days also’ Antonio Conte’s side, ‘have been in contact with the French club’ of Angers SCO, where Ounahi is contracted.
The Ligue 1 team apparently ‘start from an auction base of €35m’, which is quite high for Napoli, who want to buy him in January and loan him back to his current club so he can see off the season.
Right now, Napoli ‘are not willing to spend more than €15m’, while Leicester are ‘ready to invest £20m’.
That comes after claims a first bid has been made from the Foxes, but the Italians are ‘counting’ on the desire of the player to move to Naples, although this could all change ‘if Tottenham decide to sink the blow’, meaning come forward concretely.
