The big Italian media drama over Federico Chiesa potentially moving to Tottenham Hotspur continues on Friday.

Spurs have been linked for a while, along with half the Premier League, but it was Thursday when things really kicked off. There were claims around the Italian sport media of Tottenham preparing an offer north of €30m for the Juventus attacker.

His contract with the Turin club lasts until June 2025, and with no sign of a renewal they’re under some pressure to sell. Earlier reports had put their asking price at €20-25m, so that immediately brought some doubt about Tottenham offering €30m+.

Still, the claims continue, and Sky Italia journalist Massimo Pavan insists the Premier League club have been serious for over a week.

Bianconera quote Pavan as saying: “They have been following him in a concrete way since last July 18th. Now the closing of the deal will also depend on the player himself. Certainly in London they are making a lot of his connection with Kulusevski, while on the Juve side they are only waiting for an offer.”

Whether Pavan is referring to Dejan Kulusevski and Chiesa being friends or the potential similarities in their transfers isn’t made clear.

The Sweden international played with Chiesa at Juventus so that connection can’t do any harm.
