Losing at home to Parma 1-0 at the weekend, Inter aren’t in the best shape to face Tottenham on Tuesday in the Champions League.
Picking up four points from their first four games of the season, Luciano Spalletti’s men have struggled to get anything going in attack, despite now having both Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez as options up front.
In fact, times could start to get a bit dire in Milan, as Corriere dello Sport claim the game against Spurs midweek is ‘decisive’ for the Inter manager, who had guided the same team to 12 points at the very same point during the last campaign.
While the newspaper state that those in charge within the club still fully trust the manager, a defeat at the hands of Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who have also stuttered recently, could be the start of a downward spiral atmosphere wise.
Spalletti has already held a team meeting with his squad to discuss their poor start, trying to keep spirits up ahead of a tough game, but another defeat could prove to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
Inter have a lot to play for on Tuesday, and their manager has a point to prove… Spurs have been warned.
