In one of the more surprising stories of the past month or so, Chelsea and Tottenham being interested in FC Metz striker Habib Diallo is up there.
This comes from Moselle Sport in France, explaining a number of sides, both French and English, are keeping tabs on the player.
After all, Frank Lampard is already struggling to please all of his forwards, like Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud, so them tracking a 24-year-old, who we can only imagine would be a backup to Tammy Abraham, seems a bit odd.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are in a bit of a desperate situation when it comes to their striker situation, as they are an injury to Harry Kane away from having to playing Son Heung-min or Lucas in a makeshift role.
For them to be interested in the 6’2” prolific forward makes a lot of sense, as Diallo has continued his fine Ligue 2 form from last year (26 goals in 37 league games) into this campaign after their promotion with nine goals in his first 16 appearances.
As well as the London duo, Leicester are said to be in the mix, but that’s all the information we get about the Senegal international, who was recently called up and scored against Congo in a 2-0 win.
We’ll have to wait and see if this leads anywhere, but looking at the squads of all English teams mentioned, Spurs make the most sense at this moment in time.
