On May 14th, we covered claims from Denmark that Tottenham Hotspur have looked at FC Copenhagen’s Victor Froholdt in the past, but refused to pay £5m to sign him.

A day later, Tipsbladet reported Spurs have no plans to sign the midfielder this summer because they have the position well covered.

Tottenham have changed their stance if the latest report from Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg is to be believed. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide his own update on the Europa League winners’ interest in the 19-year-old.

Plettenberg claims the north London club have ‘entered the race’ to sign the ‘top talent’.

He further adds Eintracht Frankfurt are still actively in the hunt to secure the Denmark international’s services, while Bayer Leverkusen are also in the picture. The Bundesliga duo now have to be wary of Tottenham, who have had Froholdt on their agenda for a while.

Spurs would provide competition to Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen in the race for the young midfielder.

Froholdt played 53 games for Copenhagen this season, managing six goals and five assists in the process.
