When we saw Bruno Fernandes and Tottenham Hotspur mentioned in the same story from A Bola yesterday, we said the rumour would be back very soon. And it’s happening sooner than we thought.

The Portuguese newspaper brings another article about it today, once again claiming that the Sporting captain could be off from Lisbon in the January transfer window.

According to A Bola, there’s an ‘impass’ for the player’s contract renewal at Alvalade. There had been talks for a new deal earlier in the season, but the contacts stopped there.

That’s why Sporting have no guarantee that Bruno will remain at the club after January, especially because he continues to be linked to the likes of Spurs.

Tottenham ended up being the main contender to sign Bruno Fernandes in the summer. Although there had been many versions of how much they’ve offered, the most repeated one was about €70m, with €20m of if being in performance bonuses, which included the titles of Premier League and Champions League.

Perhaps Spurs can make a better one this time.
