Tottenham have joined the growing list of suitors for Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli but will face a challenge to convince La Viola to sell.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Castrovili has ‘attracted the attention’ of ‘great clubs’ in Europe this season after his impressive performances for Fiorentina.

Tottenham are one of those keen on his signature, joining the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool in chasing his signature.

And, according to TMW’s information, a ‘maxi offer’ of €45m has already arrived for the midfielder although this came before the Coronavirus outbreak.

It’s not made clear if that bid came from Tottenham or one of the many other suitors who have emerged in recent weeks, but it was rejected outright by Fiorentina.

They have deemed Castrovilli as ‘non-transferable’ alongside teammate Federico Chiesa, who has also been linked with a move to the Premier League on more than one occasion.

Fiorentina’s idea is to keep the pair of them and sell other players to fund any potential incomings this summer.

That would suggest Tottenham face a fight to secure the 23-year-old, should they decide to turn their apparent interest into something more serious.
