Tottenham have been reportedly snubbed by Tony Sanabria. After being said to be leading the race for the striker, Spurs have apparently been rejected because the player wants to continue in Spain, where he was on loan last season.
According to Sport, Sanabria has chosen to sign for Real Betis, and the confirmation should arrive in the next few days.
Tottenham were planning to send officials to Barcelona to negotiate with the player last week, but after Sanabria changed his mind, the mission was cancelled.
A couple of weeks ago, Sport said Roma had asked around €15m to sell the player to Tottenham. Now Betis are closing the deal paying €6m for 50% of Sanabria’s economic rights.
Despite belonging to Roma, Sanabria spent the last season on loan at Sporting Gijon. His decision to stay is Spain would be because he already feels adapted to the country and would continue to speak his native language.
