Following the reports from the Italian media saying Fiorentina were interested in the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, it didn’t take long for local outlets to start commenting how hard that task would be.
On Monday morning, it was La Nazione who claimed that La Viola’s attempt of landing the 26-year-old on a loan with an right to buy has not pleased Spurs.
It was said the London side ‘blocked everything’ for the potential move.
The information is now updated by market expert Niccolo Ceccarini, who was today interviewed by Radio Toscana.
There he made it clear that Tottenham’s main intention is to sell the player, as a loan would only be thought later.
“It’s a name that Fiorentina likes. Tottenham are asking for no less than €20m to date, but at the end of the transfer market a window could open for a loan with the right to buy,” said Ceccarini (via Fiorentina News).
Lo Celso has just returned from Spain, where he spent six months on loan at Villarreal.
Since he seems not to be part of Antonio Conte’s plans, Tottenham’s will to let him go is seen as an opportunity for Fiorentina and others, but it looks like they’ll still have to work on convincing offers.
