Tottenham and Arsenal ‘on their way’, London battle to sign 22 year old midfielder

 

German magazine SportBild have a feature in their magazine this week titled: ‘The hottest talents of the league’

It’s a look at the best young Bundesliga players, especially the ones who are much wanted for transfer. First up is Maximilian Philipp, a 22 year old attacking midfielder for Freiburg.

Frieburg were promoted this season to the Bundesliga and Philipp had a chance to join other Bundesliga clubs in the summer in the summer but instead chose to stay and develop at the club, having joined them in 2012.

It’s obviously worked given how highly SportBild think of the player, and that they say Tottenham and Arsenal are ‘on their way’.

Both Arsene Wenger and Mauricio Pochettino have a record of locating and signing young talent, and both Tottenham and Arsenal have recruited from the Bundesliga in recent seasons.

SportBild say the player’s market value is €4m, but that just looks to be Philipp’s Transfermarkt value rather than what Arsenal or Tottenham could get him for.
