Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle United are said to be in the ‘front row’ to sign Jonathan David.

He’sbeen linked with a host of clubs across the past few seasons, but hasn’t managed to get a move away from Lille.

Even this summer, there was interest from Chelsea but the situation never evolved. And now, David’s contract at the Ligue 1 club runs out next summer and he could leave the side on a free transfer.

TuttoJuve have reported on the Canada international’s situation, stating that Juventus are keeping a close eye on the striker but they’re far from being the favourites to land him.

Premier League clubs are much more likely to sign David due to their financial resources. Tottenham are mentioned as an interested party and so are Newcastle United and Arsenal.

It is suggested that an offer of over €6m per season could help one of the clubs snap up the player, who scored 19 times in Ligue 1 last season.

Tottenham already signed Dominic Solanke in the summer and Newcastle have a couple of striker options. Arsenal were linked with potential striker targets in the summer but didn’t pick one up. So the Gunners might be in more need of David than their English rivals, with competition for the player increasing.
