Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are ‘very interested’ in signing Yannick Carrasco on the deadline day, according to Foot Mercato.
The Atlético Madrid player has a contract until 2024 and the report says it includes a €60m release clause.
With both Spurs and the Tyneside club keen on having the 28-year-old for the second half of the season, it’s claimed the two Premier League sides are ‘ready’ to trigger his buyout clause.
The website adds the winger is ‘not closing the door’ on leaving Diego Simeone’s side on the last day of the January window. He is ‘open to departure, but will not sign anywhere’.
If the Belgium international failed to join either Antonio Conte’s side or the Magpies today, he could then look to leave Atlético after this season.
The former AS Monaco man is represented by Pini Zahavi and the agent is in ‘discussion with English clubs’, like Chelsea and Manchester United, with a view for next summer.
Carrasco has two goals and six assists from 29 matches in all competitions this season for the Spanish champions.
