Two months ago, we covered claims from France which stated Newcastle United are chasing Abdukodir Khusanov. Earlier this month, Le10 Sport reported Tottenham Hotspur are in the picture for the RC Lens player.
Saturday’s edition of La Voix du Nord mentions Tottenham and Newcastle interest when discussing the 20-year-old’s growth at the Ligue 1 side.
The centre-back has established himself at Lens, forming a partnership with Kevin Danso, and this has caught the attention of the European clubs.
La Voix du Nord say the duo are effective when it comes to defending and play a key role when building attacks from the back.
They add Khusanov’s impressive performances have seen his ‘rating skyrocket’ and he’s attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham and Newcastle.
PSG and the Premier League duo have put the Uzbekistan international ‘on top of their list’.
Lens took him from Belarusian side FC Energetik-BGU Minsk in 2023 and gave him a contract until 2027. Transfermarkt currently values him at €12m, but the report states the French club won’t entertain his potential sale for ‘less than €30m’.
There’s no indication whether Spurs or the Magpies will make an offer for the defender.
